Lakeridge Health Oshawa is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nephrology program in the Ambulatory Hemo In Centre - Oshawa. The role supports in-center hemodialysis across Oshawa, Whitby, and Lakeridge Gardens, delivering patient-centered, safe kidney care.

This Regular Part Time position requires current nursing registration, BCLS, and relevant experience in hemodialysis, with opportunities to lead and mentor within an interprofessional team.

Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing).
• Current BCLS.
• BScN is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years hemodialysis experience, recent.
• Nephrology Nursing certificate preferred or evidence of enrollment or progression towards completion.
• Familiar with electronic documentation.
• Demonstrated good organizational, interpersonal, communication skills both written and verbal; problem-solving, prioritization and teaching skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations.
• Proven ability to perform a leadership/preceptorship role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an integral member of the Nephrology Program, the Registered Nurse is highly skilled and responsible for supporting a system that delivers person-centred, safe and effective kidney care services in an efficient, equitable and timely manner. The successful candidate will be responsive to the staffing needs within in‑center hemodialysis at Oshawa, Whitby and Lakeridge Gardens. As the program continues to achieve deliverables under the Ontario Renal Network (ORN) and strives to achieve the targets of the Ontario Renal Plan, the registered nurse will provide excellence in patient care, maintain competency and professionalism relevant to dialysis practice and work collaboratively in the context of an interprofessional nephrology team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• " Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
• " Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO;
• " Current B.C.L.S;
• " BScN is preferred;
• " Minimum of 3 years hemodialysis experience is required; hemodialysis experience must be recent
• " Nephrology Nursing certificate preferred or evidence of enrollment or progression towards completion;
• " Familiar and comfortable with electronic documentation;
• " Demonstrated good organizational, interpersonal, communication skills both written and verbal; problem-solving, prioritization and teaching skills;
• " Demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;
• " Proven ability to perform a leadership/preceptorship role;
• " Physically capable of performing the duties of the position in order to lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;
• " Must have satisfactory performance record;
• " Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff patient, and environmental safety, and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and
