Job summary

Lakeridge Health is seeking three Registered Nurses for a temporary part-time position in the LHAP, 2N Medicine unit. The role involves 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends) at Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care within a multidisciplinary team, providing care to a general medicine population. Eligible candidates must hold an Ontario RN license in good standing and may have a BScN.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing license in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• BScN degree preferred or equivalent.
• CPR/BLS certification current and active.
• Health Assessment course completed or equivalent training.
• Current medical/surgical nursing experience (1 year).
• Strong communication and documentation skills with patients and families.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to Manager of 2 North Medicine, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning implementation and evaluating nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment. You will provide care to a general medicine patient population.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
• B.Sc.N. is preferred;
• Competent to perform CPR at a basic Cardiac Life Support level;
• Health Assessment course from a recognized institution or equivalent course;
• Current medical/surgical experience (1 year);
• Demonstrated skills in providing patient education and sharing knowledge of expected outcomes and care;
• Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community;
• Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement;
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position;

• Must have a satisfactory performance record; and
