Job summary

Ambico Limited is seeking a Machine Operator 1 (Press brake operator) to join the Production Team. The role focuses on operating laser cutters and press brakes, programming nesting jobs, and ensuring parts meet quality standards in a Monday–Friday, onsite schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• CNC Operator Diploma/Certificate is an asset.
• Experience working with a CNC machine is an asset.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience following standard operating procedures and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to complete Crane/Hoist training.

Responsibilities

• Program (nesting) jobs for laser cutting using software to create a program for each part to be cut.
• Check parts produced to ensure they meet established quality standards.
• Operate crane for loading material on table; manually load materials as required.
• Operate laser cutter and press brakes.
• Start and shutdown; process program (generate program at the machine for press brakes); troubleshooting.
• Die set up and change.
• Perform first-level maintenance on the machine to ensure it is operating properly, including calibration and daily safety checks.
• Follow safety procedures around moving parts of the laser.
• Other related duties, as assigned.

About the role

The Machine Operator is a member of the Production Team with responsibility for operating assigned machines safely, accurately, and efficiently to cut parts to meet production needs.

This is a new position being staffed which requires the individual to be onsite five(5) days a week, Monday - Friday 2:30PM to 11:00PM.

What you'll do

• Programming (nesting) jobs to be cut on laser: using software to create a program for each part to be cut.

• Following safety procedures, especially around moving parts of the laser (loading table, laser head when doing maintenance).
• Other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience.

• CNC Operator Diploma/Certificate, post-secondary courses or comparable certification, is an asset.
• Experience working with a CNC machine is an asset.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and instructions.
• Experience following standard operating procedures and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
• At least 1 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to complete Crane/Hoist training.

Work Conditions

• Working in a manufacturing environment daily
• Remain alert for extended periods, paying keen attention to detail
• Ability to lift 23 kilograms (50 lbs)
