Job summary

The SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health (GH-CCMH) in Toronto is seeking a Research Assistant for a full-time, 5-month contract. The successful candidate will support data collection, progress monitoring, and REB-related activities, reporting to the Research Scientist.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and two years of relevant research experience and/or equivalent combination of education and research experience (Experience in a mental health setting is highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of research design and research ethics
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and accommodate changing priorities
  • Proficiency in research-related software-including Excel, SPSS, REDCap
  • Proficiency in common office software- E.g., MS Office suite, presentation tools, and project management tools

The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids (GH-CCMH) is a child and youth mental health centre integrated with the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). GH-CCMH is also a member of the Thriving Minds Mental Health Access Collaborative with CAMH and SickKids and a core service provider in the Toronto sector of infant, child and youth mental health services funded by the Ministry of Health. GH-CCMH provides prevention, early intervention and health promotion services across the city, funded by MOH and other sources. As such, the Centre has an ambitious agenda to provide the highest quality, evidence-based care, offering a range of services from prevention and early intervention to counseling and therapy, assessment and intensive supports. Services are offered in person and in virtual format. We are seeking applicants for a full-time 5-month contract Research Assistant position. Reporting to the Research Scientist, the successful candidate will support the Centre’s research endeavors, including data collection and progress and outcome monitoring implementation.
