Job summary

Job Summary

Reporting to the site PI and Research Manager, the Pan-Canadian initiative Linking Genomic, Environmental and Mental Health Data in Children and Youth (Pan-GEM) is currently seeking a part-time (0.75 FTE), contract (6 months, with possibility of extension) Research Administrative Assistant to support a national research study. The project brings together child and adolescent mental health studies across Canada to generate a representative data set to examine genetic and environmental risk and resiliency factors.

Organizational Status

This position reports to the Project Manager and the project executive team including Dr Stewart.

Work Performed
  • Collecting documents, obtaining signatures for agreements, preparing accurate and timely financial reports to the granting agency, and responsible for maintaining project records.
  • Coordinate sharing of information, meetings minutes, and other associated documents with national collaborators.
  • Coordinate biological sample shipments.
  • Coordinating in-person meetings and support onboarding of new staff.

Consequence of Error/Judgement

The post holder is required to conduct all research activities in an ethical manner. Patient confidentiality must be respected when dealing with patient data. Errors made could influence and compromise the results of the research project, and therefore impact the credibility of the investigators and national collaborators. As data and results may be disseminated to other research partners, their results and credibility can be negatively influenced by the researcher's error.

Supervision
  • Received: Works under supervision of the Research Manager and site PI in carrying out duties and responsibilities. They will receive instructions during orientation and on subsequent new assignments or changes in procedures.
  • Given: None.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one's own.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Healthcare administration or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with budgets and/or financial reports is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential.
  • Demonstrated communications skills (both oral and written) are required.
Salary / Compensation

Compensation Range $4,597.80 - $5,469.59 CAD Monthly

Job Duration

Part-time (0.75 FTE), contract (6 months, with possibility of extension).
