Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. is looking for an university student for its internship/co-op program. You will work on exciting projects end-to-end, combining design, development, and testing using our technology stack.

Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in CS or Engineering and graduating 2027–2028, with a strong ability to learn new languages. For Canada-based roles, the base hourly rate is CAD 48.40 per hour, and eligible benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Active pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering, graduating between December 2027 and September 2028.
• Demonstrated software engineering experience through previous internships, work, coding competitions, or publications.
• Ability to learn new languages and methodologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Work with your manager and mentor to drive end-to-end projects.
• Design, develop, and test software applications using the company stack.
• Apply technical knowledge to evaluate data and resolve issues.
• Build software components to integrate into a full system.
• Own projects and push them forward with independence.

What You’ll do

• Work with your manager and mentor to drive exciting, ambiguous, previously unsolved projects from end to end.
• Design, develop, and/or test software applications using company technology stack.
• Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, development, or projects in order to resolve technical issues.
• Build software components to be integrated into a fully functional software system.
• Be motivated to own projects and push them forward with independence.

Basic Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, and graduating between December 2027 and September 2028.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated software engineering experience through previous internships, work experience, coding competitions, and/or publications
• Programming experience in one or more application or systems languages (Go, Python, Ruby, Java, C/C++, etc)
• Experience building tools/infrastructure
• A desire to be part of a team that delivers impactful results every day
• A commitment to writing understandable, maintainable, and reusable software
• An innate desire to deliver and a strong sense of accountability for your work
• Ability to learn new languages and methodologies

For Canada-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is CAD $48.40 per hour.
