Job summary

Lyft is hiring an intern in Toronto who will work side-by-side with engineers, owning projects and refactoring code for reliability. The role emphasizes open-source contributions, real-time problem solving, and collaboration in a startup-like environment.

The program requires a CS degree track (Bachelor's or Master's) in Canada with a 2027–2028 graduation window, and offers in-office hybrid work with 3+ days on-site per week. Base pay is CAD 40–45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science at a Canadian university with graduation between Dec 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Master's students with non-linear path should have <2 years of full-time work experience; summer 2027 internship in Toronto available.
• Strong CS fundamentals and excellent communication skills.
• Passion for community, sustainability, and transportation; able to thrive in a startup environment.
• Experience with real-time technology problems and contributions to open source.
• Experience working with databases and mobile development.

Responsibilities

• Own your project and coordinate with team members during the day.

Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science from a university in Canada (required) , with a graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028 (required).

The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $40 - CAD $45 per hour. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
