Job summary

WQS Non-Destructive Testing is seeking an experienced NDT Technician Lead for the 2026 Fall Turnaround in Fort McMurray, AB. This on-site leadership role requires certified NDT skills and a strong commitment to safety to ensure a successful turnaround. Fort McMurray location with flights and camp provided where required.

CGSB certification and IRATA are assets; multi-ticketed technicians preferred. A valid driver’s license and First Aid/Confined Space certifications are advantageous, supporting

• CGSB Certification required; multi-ticketing preferred.
• Must be fit for duty and able to comply with safety testing.
• IRATA Rope Access considered an asset.
• Experience setting-up, programming, and operating hydroforming presses and related machinery.
• Valid driver’s license with 3-year abstract; First Aid & Confined Space Certification is an asset.

Something BIG is coming to our Fall 2026 Turnarounds.WQS NDT will be giving away one brand-new vehicle to an eligible WQS NDT employee.Employees who commit to and complete their entire Turnaround assignment may have the opportunity to qualify for the draw.

Official contest rules and eligibility details will be provided to eligible participants.

WQS Non-Destructive Testing (WQS NDT) is currently hiring experienced, proficient, certified Lead NDT Technicians (Rope Access considered an asset).

• Fort McMurray, Alberta

• Flights (where required) and camp are company provided.

What You Will Bring

• CGSB Certification. Preference will be given to multi-ticketed technicians; however we encourage all interested CGSB technicians to apply.
• Must be Fit for Duty at all times and be able to comply with the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace which includes alcohol and drug testing.
• IRATA Rope Access certification considered an asset.
• Experience with setting-up, programming, and operating hydroforming presses and related machinery.
• Valid driver's license with a 3-year driver abstract, First Aid & Confined Space Certification is an asset.
• Solid technical skills and proven track record as a proficient NDT technician
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude is a must.
• Demonstrate high standards of safety and align with best-in-class company culture.
