What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Fall intern for a Business Analyst role (including but not limited to risk management, strategy and product, technology, and business operations) to join the RBC Wealth Management Team. Success in this role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent communicator who can collaborate effectively across teams, is solutions-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic environment.

What will you do?

1. Develop documents for IT applications, system specifications, and test plans according to standards and methodologies.
2. Translate business needs, processes, and procedures into workable approaches, helping develop materials to align stakeholders.
3. Work closely with business architects and technology staff to deliver projects, conduct risk analysis, and meet deliverables.
4. Ensure project materials are prepared and up-to-date for updates and presentations.
5. Benchmark ideas against competitors and understand market trends influencing consumer preferences.
6. Perform data analysis, reconciliation, and flag discrepancies to initiate inquiries and prepare summaries.
7. Conduct due diligence on clients to understand sources of wealth and identify red flags within risk appetite.
8. Assist in managing projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
9. Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and key parties as needed.
10. Help automate KRI data collection by collaborating with data owners to streamline processes.

Must have:

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong relationship management, collaboration, and time management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically while managing details.
• Interest in operational risk management and regulatory compliance within financial services.
• Adaptability to dynamic situations impacting outcomes.

• Experience leading small projects or enhancements.

• Experience with IT components in projects.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
