What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Fall intern for a Business Analyst role, including but not limited to risk management, strategy and product, technology, and business operations, to join the RBC Wealth Management Team. Success in this role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused individual who can collaborate effectively across teams and thrives in a dynamic environment.

What will you do?

  1. Develop documents for IT applications, system specifications, and test plans according to standards and methodologies.
  2. Translate business needs, processes, and procedures into workable approaches, developing materials to align stakeholders.
  3. Work with business architects and technology staff to deliver projects, incorporating risk analysis and meeting deliverables.
  4. Ensure materials are prepared and current for project updates and presentations.
  5. Benchmark ideas against competitors and understand market trends influencing consumer preferences.
  6. Perform data analysis, reconciliation, and flag discrepancies to initiate inquiries and prepare summaries.
  7. Conduct due diligence on clients to understand sources of wealth and identify red flags related to risk appetite.
  8. Assist in managing projects and initiatives for multiple stakeholders.
  9. Facilitate stakeholder meetings as needed.
  10. Support automation of KRI data collection by collaborating with data owners.

Must have:

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship management, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing details.
  • Interest in operational risk management and regulatory compliance in financial services.
  • Adaptability to dynamic situations and ability to influence outcomes.

Nice to have:

  • Experience leading small projects or enhancements.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Some experience with IT projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

  • Be graduating immediately after the work term and require the full term to graduate.
