RBC Wealth Management is a part of Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”), one of the largest providers of financial services in the world. RBC Wealth Management Canada is comprised of six complementary lines of business supported by over 250 wealth professionals through our RBC Family Office Services team. Your application will be reviewed for consideration across multiple roles within the following areas:

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking Data Analysts (including but not limited to Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Data Team Co-Op) to join the RBC Wealth Management Team. If you are passionate about learning data engineering and data product delivery practices, please read on.

What will you do?

  • Assist in developing and delivering data product solutions, including building, customizing, and managing data pipelines, data integration tools, databases, data warehouses, and analytical systems.
  • Produce technical artifacts to document solution designs and operational guidelines.
  • Support testing requirements for data products and services, including automation of testing processes.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders using our software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Increase awareness of Advanced Analytics capabilities, experimenting with NLP for feature mining and retrievals.
  • Perform research and provide answers for customer inquiries.
  • Document processes or upgrade existing procedure manuals.
  • Ensure process security, product, and employee setup on Eagle system.
  • Review data quality monitors daily and address data quality issues with stakeholders.
  • Analyze data and workflows to improve data quality.
  • Update and organize DMO’s Connect and Confluence pages.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • A strong quantitative background; a degree in math, statistics, computer science, or engineering is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and large data sets; knowledge of AWS, cloud computing, or similar storage solutions.
  • Proficiency in high-quality coding using general-purpose programming languages, especially Python.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, containerization, and Unix/Linux/Bash scripting skills.
  • Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Experience in full software development lifecycle practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, and testing.
  • A desire to learn about data management, governance, quality, literacy, etc.
  • Interest in data business intelligence tools like Excel and Tableau.

Nice to have:

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work with diverse and offshore teams.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functional areas.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Be returning to school after the work term, or
  • If graduating immediately after the work term, require the full work term to graduate successfully.
