This position involves technical, field, and project coordination work within the Transportation Division of the Engineering Department. Responsibilities include participating in large traffic management projects, liaising with external agencies, investigating traffic issues, designing traffic control systems, overseeing maintenance of traffic signals and street lights, and ensuring compliance with safety and project standards.
Qualifications include completion of a civil technology certificate program with related courses, significant relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of traffic engineering practices, municipal street layouts, and traffic system design is essential. Candidates must have the ability to monitor contractors, analyze data, prepare reports, and handle public inquiries. A valid BC Driver’s License is required.
