Position: Lifeguard

Department: Social Services

Employment Status: Contract (Approx. 2 months)

Salary: $25.29/HR – 35 Hours per Week

Location: Naughton, ON

Closing Date: June 16, 2025, at 4pm

POSITION SCOPE:

Atikameksheng Anishnawbek is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Lifeguard to oversee beach areas and ensure the well-being of all patrons. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, a positive role model, and capable of responding effectively in emergency situations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certifications
  • Experience in lifeguarding and working with diverse populations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek culture and traditions
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor beach areas and enforce safety rules
  • Respond to emergencies and activate Emergency Action Plans
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and professional environment
  • Conduct beach inspections and report safety concerns
  • Record participation and complete daily cleaning tasks
  • Attend regular training sessions and team meetings

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions, physical activity, and interaction with community members of all ages. Travel within the community and surrounding areas may be required.
