Job summary

Gateway Casinos is seeking a First Cook to join our busy kitchen. This full-time role offers a wages of $28.07 per hour and opportunities to grow within a major national company known for benefits and training.

The successful candidate has 2–5 years of cooking experience, relevant culinary education, and credentials such as Red Seal or Foodsafe are assets. The position requires ability to work evenings and weekends in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Two to five years in a cook position or extensive culinary experience.
• Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent education.
• Red Seal or equivalent certification is an asset.
• Foodsafe Certificate is an asset.
• Solid understanding of meat, starch, sauces, soups and food safety preparation.
• Ability to lift items weighted similar to a crate of potatoes and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work flexible hours and special events.
