Job summary

Niagara Health is seeking a Registered Nurse, RPTB, on a regular part-time basis at the Marotta Family Hospital in St. Catharines. You will assess, diagnose, and implement integrated nursing care while promoting patient-centered care within a total patient care model.

Must be available to work 45 hours per pay period and hold an active CNO registration. Experience in perioperative settings, IV therapy skills, CVAD management, and discharge planning are essential.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• One year’s related clinical experience in the past three years in a perioperative environment.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Performs to the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Proficient in physical assessment and IV therapy (including advanced techniques).
• Knowledge of CVADs, PCA/epidural lines, VAC therapy, enteral feeds, TPN and chest tubes.
• Ability to develop an integrated plan of care and document according to CNO standards.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and effective discharge planning.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Working to promote nursing excellence, quality patient/client-centered care and high professional standards, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, integrated care plan development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. The objective of the Registered Nurse is to provide safe and competent care through the application of nursing knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in physical assessment

• Demonstrated ability to develop an integrated plan of care


• Demonstrated knowledge of and understanding of nursing standards as they apply to the care of perioperative patients/clients
