Job Title:

VP Software Engineering, Market Intelligence Program Co-Founder

Overview:

The MasterCard Services global technology team is seeking a Vice President as the technical co-founder of the Market Intelligence program. This role will work with vendors, technical program managers, and product partners to define and execute a technology strategy for the program that enables business growth, enhances customer experience, and ensures the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing software solutions. As a key technology leader, this role will focus on engineering best practices, AI and ML innovation, vendor management, and external partnerships, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Market Intelligence north star:

• Market insights to understand payments and make decisions, automating and democratizing consulting.
• Single access point and unified experience to cross-sell and host other self-service business intelligence products

Key products part of Market Intelligence include Cards Lab and ownership of Mastercard Business Intelligence Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership

• Accountability for application quality and developer productivity
• Shared responsibility for product success and program financials; manage budgets for investment value
• Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and cost optimization
• Co-create value propositions to address customer needs and establish the program's “North Star”
• Define and execute a strategic technology roadmap aligned with business priorities
• Define and measure engineering KPIs for system performance and stability

Software Development Responsibilities

• Drive adoption of corporate vision and direction for the Platform technology stack
• Balance short-term and long-term needs to ensure performance and scaling
• Collaborate with business partners on product definition, roadmaps, and business cases
• Manage vendors to build and run products aligned with program objectives
• Contribute to technical discussions, providing guidance on approach and process
• Ensure compliance with security standards
• Drive scalability, security, and performance improvements
• Lead AI, ML, and data-driven innovation initiatives
• Coordinate development across teams
• Manage operational concerns to ensure quality delivery

People & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor global engineering teams
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
• Attract, hire, and develop top engineering talent

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in software engineering leadership, with a track record of building scalable solutions
• Expertise in content management, microservices, AI/ML; familiarity with Salesforce, IAM, E-commerce
• Experience leading global teams and delivering mission-critical applications
• Ability to translate complex technical matters into actionable plans
• Experience with scalable platforms leveraging vendor solutions
• Strong background in Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automation
• Deep understanding of security, compliance, risk management
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proven leadership in managing senior technical staff and fostering culture
• Budget and financial management experience
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
