Role Overview

The Transport, Trade & Logistics General Cargo Sourcing Manager for the region is responsible for managing transport project budgets for G/C, ensuring budget availability aligns with requirements. The role involves managing the strategic sourcing process, including the development and execution of the CAT CIPS Strategy. Additionally, the G/C Sourcing Manager oversees supplier base management, ensuring performance targets are met and resolving claims or disputes with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze transport requirements based on weight and dimensions; utilize existing agreements and past shipments as benchmarks for RFIs.
• Execute end-to-end RFI and RFQ processes for general cargo, analyze results, and manage project budgets and negotiations.
• Conduct analytics through SCMIS reporting, support market intelligence reports, and manage commodity guidelines based on market prices.
• Develop and monitor CAT CIPS strategies and KPIs for general cargo.
• Manage supplier qualification, performance measurement, and classification processes using SAP Ariba.
• Support change management initiatives, including training and communication for TTL projects and tools.
• Engage stakeholders, ensure team staffing and development, and align with HR policies for talent management.
• Lead process adaptations, system implementations, and regional rollout of policies and initiatives.
• Ensure local organizations are trained and processes are defined and implemented effectively, including S&OP standards.
• Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity in all actions.

Qualifications

• University degree required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills; proficiency in English is required; Spanish is desirable.
• Experience in sourcing, transportation, or logistics procurement is preferred.
