Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited is hiring a Tester Automation Jr to join our QA team in Brazil. The role offers learning and growth in automation and testing within a global, collaborative environment.

As a Junior Automation Tester, you will support QA activities, develop scripts, and participate in Scrum ceremonies while working with product owners, developers, and fellow QA engineers to validate application functionality.

Qualifications

• Understanding of functional, integration, regression and exploratory testing concepts.
• Basics of Java or Python and willingness to develop automation skills.
• Familiar with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices.
• Knowledge of web, API, and mobile testing concepts.
• Familiarity with JIRA and GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of QA activities for one or more projects, including test preparation, execution, and documentation of results.
• Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test scripts under the guidance of senior team members.
• Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring issues are clearly communicated and followed through to resolution.
• Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, providing updates on testing progress and raised issues.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teammates to understand requirements and validate application functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of QA activities for one or more projects, including test preparation, execution, and documentation of results.

Mandatory Skills

• Testing Fundamentals: Understanding of functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing concepts.
• Automation & Scripting: Basic knowledge of Java or Python and willingness to develop automation skills using tools such as Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright, or API testing tools.Tools & Frameworks: Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools; exposure to automation frameworks is a plus.
• Methodologies: Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices.
• Testing Approaches: Basic knowledge of web, API, and mobile testing concepts.Version Control & Management: Familiarity with JIRA and GitHub. Experience in Software Quality Assurance, software development, or a related technical field.
• Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
• Proactive approach to asking questions and seeking guidance when needed.
