An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Safety Technician to ensure the highest standards of safety on offshore units and tankers. This role involves maintaining life-saving devices, conducting safety audits, and managing chemical safety data. The ideal candidate will have a strong maritime background, technical education, and experience in safety management systems. - Responsible for maintaining all removable life-saving devices, safety equipment, and fire fighting equipment onboard.
- Monitor maintenance activities, replace worn parts, and repaint/recover safety equipment to maintain their condition. For specialized issues, involve the technical department for assistance or advice.
- Maintain and update contingency and organizational plans, and propose improvements.
- Responsible for maintaining chemical safety data sheets (FISPQ).
- Verify injury reports before they are signed, approved by the OIM, and sent ashore.
- Evaluate Work Permits and conduct audits at work sites.
- Be present at the helideck, act as a helicopter landing and takeoff agent (ALPH) during landing/takeoff, and assist in emergency situations.
- Responsible for scaffold release inspections, maintaining up-to-date scaffold records along with weekly inspections.
- Update and maintain all action tracking lists.
- Organize weekly action tracking, such as Observation Cards and pending actions in Synergi.
- Prepare and distribute all SMS reports under your responsibility.
- Operate helicopter refueling, sampling, and first-line maintenance.
- Technical High School Education.
- Maritime or Technical experience, preferably related to safety on tankers and offshore units (mobile or fixed).
- Professional registration as a Safety Technician with the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTPS), according to Portaria TEM 262/2008.
- Experience in SMS;
- CBSP, HUET or THUET;
- NR 33, NR 35;
- Transport of Dangerous Goods CAT 1;
- CACI and MCIA certifications;
- Advanced English proficiency.
