Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Workshop Diesel Mechanic in Australia to join our team handling heavy vehicle repairs and maintenance at the Pooraka branch.

You will deliver first-class service across automotive, high horsepower, and power generation applications, completing repairs and diagnostics with a strong safety focus. Applicants should hold an Australian recognised trade certificate (heavy or light vehicle); apprentice-trained technicians are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Australian recognised Trade certificate (heavy or light vehicle).
  • Apprentice trained engine technician (preferred).
  • Experience in heavy diesel products, mining equipment, power generation engines.
  • Solid diagnostic capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a first-class service to customers across automotive, high horsepower, on-highway and power generation product applications.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products.
  • Diagnose and repair engines.
  • Inspect and replace components as required.
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, health and environmental procedures.
  • Timely completion of required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Workshop Diesel Mechanic to join our team specialising in Heavy Vehicle repairs and maintenance for our Pooraka branch.

Reporting to the Workshop supervisor, In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Deliver a first-class service to our customers across, automotive, high horsepower, on-highway and power generation product applications.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products
  • Diagnose and repair various engines
  • Inspect and replace components as required
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, health and environmental procedures
  • Timely completion of required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Australian recognised Trade certificate(heavy or light vehicle)
  • Apprentice trained engine technician (preferred)
  • Service and maintenance experience in heavy diesel products, mining equipment, power generation on engines, including engine overhauls and major repairs
  • Solid diagnostic capabilities
