Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Workshop technician to join our Mt. Isa team, focusing on engine repairs and maintenance for heavy diesel equipment across automotive, mining, and industrial sectors.

You will diagnose engines, complete repairs, replace components, rebuild engines where needed, and ensure safety compliance while documenting service worksheets and other records in our business systems.

Qualifications

• Heavy diesel trade qualification - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter (Australian standards).
• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products.
• Solid diagnostic, electronic and IT capabilities.
• Valid Australian Driver’s license.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Workshop technician to join our team specialising in engine repairs and maintenance for our Mt. Isa branch.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Deliver a first-class service to our customers across automotive, mining, and industrial and agricultural
• Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products
• Diagnose and repair engines
• Inspect and replace components as required
• Engine rebuilding and reconditioning

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Relevant Heavy Diesel trade qualification - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter (to Australian standards), Light Vehicle will be considered with Heavy experience
• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products
• Previous workshop exposure would be highly regarded
• Solid diagnostic, electronic and IT capabilities
• Valid Australian Driver’s license required
