Summary
Join Kelly Services as a Technical Sr. Business Analyst B. supporting Product Delivery. In this senior product-focused BA role you will translate Product objectives into clear, development-ready epics, features, user stories, business rules, and testable acceptance criteria while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Design, and business stakeholders. This role emphasizes rapid, high-quality backlog delivery, clear decision traceability, and effective cross-team communication in a short-cycle delivery environment.
Responsibilities
- Translate Product-defined objectives, outcomes, and requirements into a structured hierarchy of epics, features, and user stories.
- Decompose features into independently valuable, appropriately sized user stories.
- Define business-focused, specific, observable, and testable acceptance criteria for development and QA.
- Capture and document business rules, workflows, exceptions, assumptions, dependencies, constraints, and unresolved questions.
- Facilitate focused requirements discovery and backlog refinement sessions with Product, Engineering, QA, Design, and business stakeholders.
- Ask targeted questions to clarify users, desired outcomes, success measures, business behavior, edge cases, and operational impacts.
- Identify ambiguity, contradiction, missing information, and unsupported assumptions before work reaches development.
- Update stories, acceptance criteria, comments, or decision logs within 24 hours of meetings and include a one-line rationale for changes tied to discussion.
- Incorporate revision requests from the team by default; if disagreeing, ask clarifying questions and defer to the team's decision once voiced.
- Partner with the Product Owner/Scrum Master to support backlog organization, hygiene, sequencing considerations, dependencies, scope tradeoffs, and risks.
- Support story validation, user acceptance testing, and release readiness as needed.
Requirements
- Senior-level Business Analyst experience working within a product or agile delivery team and able to operate at senior scope and ownership.
- Strong ability to write clear, testable acceptance criteria and well-structured user stories.
- Proven experience facilitating refinement and discovery sessions with Product, Engineering, QA, Design, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrable discipline for documentation timeliness and traceability: update stories and decision logs within 24 hours of meetings and include a one-line \"why\" for changes.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication with the ability to synthesize decisions into short summaries rather than pasting raw source material.
- Coachability and receptiveness to feedback with visible follow-through after one-on-one feedback.
- Respect for role boundaries: inform and reinforce prioritization via trade-offs, dependencies, and effort without dictating MVP or priority decisions.
- Ability to identify duplicates and maintain backlog hygiene to prevent overlap and confusion.
- Working knowledge of web application development and UX design to translate visual designs into business-focused requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar for backlog and documentation management.
