Senior Tax Manager Latin America
As the Senior Tax Manager for our Latin American region you will fully own Adyen's Latin America tax structure, ensuring that it is well set up for our continued growth and global expansion. You'll have significant autonomy to initiate and drive projects aligned with the company's rapid growth and the evolving Brazilian & Mexican tax landscape.

Reporting to the Vice President - Global Head of Tax, this role is part of our global tax team and based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. You would work closely with your tax colleagues, as well as liaising with Group Finance and wider company functions, both business partnering and educating on various tax topics.

What you'll do

1. Lead Adyen successfully through tax complexity in Brazil & Mexico, incl. the Brazilian Tax Reform.
2. Take complete ownership of the Latin America tax structure, setting it up for further growth and scalability.
3. Develop a vision and come up with a tax strategy for the region, aligned with Adyen's growth and global tax strategy.
4. Proactively identify and analyze potential tax risks and opportunities within the Latin American region, developing strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and increase control of Adyen's tax position.
5. Be the main point of contact for all tax matters in the Latin America region.
6. Collaborate closely with finance, commercial and product teams on new product launches and business initiatives within Latin America to ensure tax compliance and efficiency from inception.
7. Take a proactive role in coaching and educating two other Latin America tax colleagues.
8. Review & sign off of tax returns.
9. Lead tax audits, as and when they arise.
10. Lead projects with both internal and external stakeholders.

Who you are

1. You have a deep understanding of Brazilian tax legislation.
2. You have proven experience in a Brazilian (and broader Latin America) tax role.
3. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate complex tax legislation into practical business advice in a fast-paced, international setting.
4. You are eager to contribute to Adyen's continued success and expansion in the dynamic Latin American market, embracing new challenges and opportunities for professional growth.
5. You are proactive and solutions-oriented who enjoys mentoring and developing talent within a collaborative team environment.
6. You have a mindset of constantly improving, automating and scaling.
7. You’ve affinity with data and tax technology and use this to come up with solutions.
8. You’re not afraid to think out-of-the box and are able to come up with creative solutions.
9. You’re a go-getter, take ownership and are not afraid of doing the work yourself and do things outside your comfort zone.
10. You thrive in a rapidly-changing environment and have a growth mindset.
11. You have solid stakeholder management experience and can communicate in a clear and concise way.
12. Fluent in English and Portuguese is mandatory.
13. In-house experience or experience at a regulated financial institution is a plus.
