Job Description

Job Summary

Our Tax Manager is responsible for providing tax compliance and advisory services for Learning Technologies Group plc and their LTG and GP Strategies’ subsidiary operations across the LATAM region. In this hands-on role, you will manage the regional direct and indirect tax accounting and compliance function, advise the business on a wide range of LATAM tax matters, and consult with external advisors and tax authorities. This role reports to the VP, Tax based in the UK, with a dotted line to the local regional director based in Mexico.

Working Scheme: Remote.

Key Activities:

  • Management of the end-to-end process for the Group's Latin American direct corporate tax and withholding tax compliance, including handling of any audits and inquiries.
  • Support all indirect tax compliance obligations and filing requirements for the Latin America legal entities.
  • Preparation of the tax disclosures in the financial statements for the Group and Latin America legal entities and/or work with external consultants on the same.
  • Provide tax advice in relation to global projects including system enhancements, business restructuring, and day-to-day operations.
  • Responsible for the accounting and audit support regarding direct and indirect tax liabilities/receivables balance for all Latin America entities.
  • Implementation of direct and indirect tax opportunities and process improvements, in line with regional/global strategies and the commercial objectives of the Company.
  • Support all other tax-related local, regional, and global tasks as needed, including transfer pricing and due diligence activities for potential acquisitions.
  • Certify the balances of tax accounts in the region.
  • Support and supervise the attention of any request received from the local tax authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate studies in related areas desirable.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) professional certification.
  • Solid previous experience in tax management, preferably in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Previous experience with tax management in Latin American countries.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax planning strategies and experience in managing direct and indirect taxes.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, adopting the most appropriate medium for the situation.
  • Excellent analytical, innovative, and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Advanced English - mandatory.
  • Advanced Spanish - desirable.
