Jobtailor in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, seeks a Project Engineer/Coordinator to identify and qualify Operations needs, map requirements, assess risks, and propose innovative solutions for complex projects. You will engage new suppliers, plan pilot studies, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and prepare comprehensive workpacks for procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning.

Strong English, active CREA registration, and Oil & Gas project experience are required; travel and dynamic

Qualificações

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Production, Naval, Chemical, or related fields.
• Active CREA registration.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer/Coordinator in Oil & Gas (offshore/onshore); cross-functional delivery across engineering, operations and suppliers.
• Experience in innovation projects and new technologies.
• Knowledge of class rules and requirements (ABS/DNV), codes (ASME/API/IEC/ISO), HSE and MoC.

Responsabilidades

• Identify, critically analyze and qualify the needs of the Operations team, map requirements and propose solutions and new technologies.
• Identify and engage new suppliers, build a pipeline of partnerships and represent the company at conferences and events.
• Plan, develop and manage pilot projects; coordinate tests and consolidate results into executive recommendations.
• Coordinate engineering disciplines and prepare workpacks with specifications, drawings, ITPs, installation and commissioning procedures; ensure reviews and approvals.
• Manage end-to-end interfaces with Operations, Suppliers, Supply Chain/Procurement, Planning and Execution; establish RACI and governance.
• Prepare and consolidate detailed cost estimates (CAPEX/OPEX) and perform scenario/sensitivity analyses.
• Act as technical focal point for R&D projects across all phases; track Long Lead Items and interface with Asset Management and global R&D.
• Promote continuous improvement, standardization, digitization and KPI reporting.

• Identify, critically analyze and qualify the needs of the Operations team by conducting clarification meetings, mapping functional/technical requirements, operational risks and constraints; research and propose solutions and new technologies for the problem.
• Identify and engage new suppliers in the market, research and evaluate emerging technologies and innovative solutions, build a pipeline of partnerships, and represent the company at conferences, trade shows and technical events on innovation and new technologies, bringing insights applicable to the business.
• Plan, propose, develop and manage pilot projects (scope, schedule, budget and risks), coordinate tests and validations, and consolidate results into conclusive reports and executive recommendations on the feasibility and adoption of the evaluated technologies.
• Engage and coordinate engineering disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, automation, naval, process) for solution evaluation and prepare the complete workpack (when applicable): technical specifications, P&IDs, drawings, isometrics, bills of materials, test/inspection plans (ITPs), installation, commissioning and HSE procedures; ensure formal reviews and approvals.
• Manage end-to-end interfaces with Operations, Suppliers, Supply Chain/Procurement, Planning and Execution, establishing a responsibility matrix (RACI), integrated schedule, milestones/deliverables and governance routines; maintain proactive communication of risks, changes and decisions.
• Prepare and consolidate detailed cost estimates (CAPEX/OPEX), including engineering, materials, LLI, fabrication, mobilization, execution resources (teams, man-hours, POB), logistics, contingencies and commissioning; structure assumptions, calculation bases, scenarios and sensitivity analysis for feasibility studies.
• Act as the technical focal point for research and development projects in all project phases (concept → detailed design → procurement → fabrication → installation → commissioning), answering queries, guiding solutions and ensuring compliance with standards, class requirements and integrity/reliability guidelines.
• Track LLI (Long Lead Items) vendors and critical equipment up to release for fabrication.
• Maintain continuous technical interface with Asset Management and the global R&D team.
• Promote continuous improvement and standardization: capture best practices, propose engineering standards and templates, support process digitization, and maintain performance KPIs (schedule, cost, quality, HSE, rework) with regular reports to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Naval, Chemical, or related fields).
• Active CREA registration.
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer/Coordinator in Oil & Gas (offshore/onshore), with cross-functional work across engineering, operations and suppliers; track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Experience in innovation projects and new technologies.
• Knowledge of class rules and requirements (ABS/DNV), applicable codes (ASME/API/IEC/ISO), HSE, Management of Change (MoC), asset integrity and reliability.
• Strong stakeholder interface and communication skills across multiple areas and hierarchical levels; ability to challenge scope, facilitate technical decisions and manage conflicts.
• Advanced English for interaction with multicultural teams, suppliers and technical documentation; proficiency in reading drawings and international specifications.
• Proficiency with project and management tools: MS Project/Primavera, advanced Excel, SharePoint, SAP/ERP, workflows and collaborative tools; familiarity with BIM/3D and engineering systems (AutoCAD/AVEVA/E3D).
