Descrição da oferta de emprego

Job Description

In NOV Subsea Production Systems (NOV SPS), part of Fortune 500 company NOV, we power the industries that power the world. Our core business is engineering, manufacturing, and delivering high-quality flexible pipe systems for offshore oil and gas developments worldwide.

NOV SPS designs and manufactures flexible pipes and innovative subsea solutions for the offshore energy industry. With operations in Denmark—Brøndby and Kalundborg—and Brazil—Rio de Janeiro and Açu Port, we combine advanced engineering expertise with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology to deliver subsea equipment to major oil companies and installation contractors worldwide.

As demand for offshore flexible pipe systems continues to grow, we are looking for a Specialist Engineer to strengthen our global Pipe System Design discipline in Brazil, with particular focus on early engagement activities, Petrobras portfolio support, customer design‑basis alignment, technical interface management, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Your New Role

As a Specialist Engineer – Pipe System Design, you will play a key technical role supporting early customer engagement, FEED studies, tendering, pre-project development, and project execution for Petrobras and international projects.

This role goes beyond standard project execution. You will provide technical guidance, promote methodology alignment, and support consistent decision‑making across the Pipe System Design discipline. You will help translate customer requirements, field‑development assumptions, product capabilities, and internal engineering practices into robust and feasible technical solutions.

A key aspect of the role will be maintaining and developing customer design‑basis documentation, including flexible pipe product requirements, design assumptions, engineering methodologies, qualification needs, manufacturing interfaces, testing requirements, and execution constraints.

You will work closely with engineering teams, Disciplinary Leads, product engineering, commercial teams, project management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other interface departments to improve design maturity, reduce technical uncertainty, and strengthen NOV’s responsiveness to customer needs.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:
  • Providing technical support and guidance to Pipe System Design engineering teams during early engagement, FEED, tendering, pre‑project, and project execution phases.
  • Supporting Petrobras portfolio activities through early technical assessments, customer requirement clarification, design‑basis development, and product‑related alignment.
  • Maintaining and developing customer design‑basis documentation, ensuring that assumptions, product requirements, methodologies, and execution constraints are properly captured and communicated.
  • Supporting technical alignment between customer requirements, flexible pipe product capabilities, manufacturing processes, testing requirements, and installation considerations.
  • Acting as a technical interface between Pipe System Design, product engineering, commercial, project management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Supporting methodology alignment and consistency of Pipe System Design practices across projects and portfolios.
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of design guides, templates, tools, lessons learned, standardisation initiatives, and engineering methodologies.
  • Reviewing and supporting engineering analyses, technical documentation, design reports, and technical clarifications related to flexible pipe systems.
  • Supporting the resolution of technical challenges involving flexible pipe design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, installation, and integrity assessment.
  • Participating in technical reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, customer discussions, and internal engineering forums.
  • Supporting manufacturing activities through technical clarifications, deviation assessments, carcass approval processes, and non‑conformance evaluations.
  • Promoting engineering quality, technical consistency, compliance with applicable standards, and adherence to internal procedures.
  • Supporting knowledge sharing, technical development, mentoring, and best practices within the Pipe System Design discipline.

You will be part of a global and diverse engineering organization, working on major offshore developments in a collaborative and international environment.

About You

At NOV, we are committed to supporting professional development and technical growth. We are looking for an experienced engineer who is motivated to solve complex offshore engineering challenges, engage early with customer needs, and contribute to the development of advanced flexible pipe solutions.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in offshore engineering, flexible pipe systems, subsea engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience supporting early engagement activities, FEED studies, tendering, pre‑project development, or project execution for major offshore customers.
  • Experience with Petrobras projects, requirements, specifications, or technical interfaces would be highly valuable.
  • A solid understanding of flexible pipe design methodologies, structural mechanics, hydrodynamics, fatigue, permeation, numerical analysis, and integrity assessment.
  • Good understanding of flexible pipe manufacturing processes and associated technical interfaces.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing‑related activities, including technical clarifications, deviation handling, carcass approval processes, and non‑conformance assessments.
  • Experience contributing to design guides, engineering methodologies, standardisation initiatives, lessons learned, or continuous improvement activities.
  • The ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into clear engineering assumptions, design‑basis inputs, and product‑related requirements.
  • The ability to support technical alignment and interface management across engineering, manufacturing, product, project, commercial, and supply chain teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • The ability to provide technical leadership, guidance and support to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multicultural, and international environment.
  • Availability for occasional travel.
