Baxter International Inc. in Brazil is seeking a Specialist in Controllership to ensure compliance with US GAAP, statutory and tax requirements across entities in scope. You will lead complex accounting processes and collaborate with regional finance teams to deliver accurate reporting.

The role requires strong problem solving, excellent communication in English, and willingness to travel; experience with JDE, Blackline or W-Desk is a plus; proactive with process improvements.

Qualificações

• 7+ years in general accounting with knowledge in local regulations including taxes and national and international best practices.
• Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
• Excellent knowledge of local GAAPs and tax matters for the countries in scope.
• Very good knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mind-set.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English. Spanish is nice to have.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the preparation and execution of Statutory, US GAAP and tax accounting and reporting for the entities in scope; ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the reporting.
• Lead the preparation for external statutory audits, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, timely delivery of audit requirements, and successful completion of audit activities
• Act as a liaison for local tax authorities for direct and indirect tax day-to-day interactions, queries and audits.
• Ensure adherence of processes to company’s policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls.
• Work closely with other finance and non-finance teams, as well as external providers, in execution of end-to-end finance processes.
• Participate in resolution of complex accounting and tax issues.
• Participate in local, regional, and global projects, as required.
• Be an advocate of finance function.
• Maintain focus on continuous process improvement.

Your role at Baxter

The Specialist, Controllership role at Baxter is part of Regional Controlling organization and is critical in ensuring compliance with US GAAP, statutory and tax requirements in Brazil. From General Ledger knowledge to specialized statutory regional regulation, this professional analyses, processes and correct accounting activities while identifies irregularities in Taxes, Statutory regulations or any other accounting related process.

What you’ll be doing

• This role is part of Regional Controlling organization and is critical in ensuring compliance with US GAAP, statutory and tax requirements in countries in scope.
• The role requires understanding of complex accounting matters, quick problem-solving skills and strong collaboration with other finance and non-finance teams.
• Lead the preparation and execution of Statutory, US GAAP and tax accounting and reporting for the entities in scope; ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the reporting.
• Lead the preparation for external statutory audits, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, timely delivery of audit requirements, and successful completion of audit activities

What you’ll be doing

• Minimum of 7 years in general accounting with knowledge in local regulations including taxes and national and international best practices.
• Proven experience in a multinational environment and/or audit.
• Excellent knowledge of local GAAPs and tax matters for the countries in scope.
• Very good knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent communication skills, diplomatic, flexible and “can do” mind-set.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English. Spanish is nice to have.
• Strong reporting tools including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or part qualified /qualified ACCA/CPA.
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally as required.
• Experience in JDE, Blackline and W-Desk is an advantage.

Additional hours at critical times (e.g., month-end) may be required. Also, and on an exceptional basis, the role may require work on public holidays.
