Key areas of responsibility for a Solution Engineer for Systems & Services:
- Participates in new projects during installation, commissioning (remotely/ on-site) and acceptance testing as required or in support of System Center.
- Prepare and deliver Engineering Documentation after System Start-up.
- Provide relevant input to the Division for building blocks improvement.
- Develops detailed design for the relevant programmable building blocks.
- Supports Architecture Manager/ Proposal Manager/ Project Manager in the technical solution during proposal and services contract execution.
- Reviews/ verifies the control design, schematics and drawings delivered by the Technical Designer.
- Iterates the design of his own sub-system, until cost of the sub-system matches budget allocated.
- Builds mock-ups to test inter-operability and/or features of the sub-system.
- Provides technical expertise in sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance.
- Validates delivered solution ensuring all building blocks are functioning according to specifications and ensuring Lifecycle services capabilities.
- Preparation of system testing and turnover documentation including scoped documents, test records, test procedures and other similar required documents.
- Prepare detailed startup plans for assigned project system commissioning activities, integrate all discipline activities into these plans.
- Prepare system turnover packages in accordance with project procedures by assembling and reviewing all system test documentation (all disciplines) for adequacy and completeness.
- Monitor and control system performance and be accountable for performance of the system against the budget.
- Participate in system turnover walkdowns for both Construction and Customer; initiate, track and resolve punch-list items for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Enhances design with key points included by proposal manager in the consolidated proposal.
- Develops, trains and deploys user instruction/ manuals to customer organization during handover.
- Works with all Stakeholders in the creation of quotes for architectures selected, system additions and upgrades.
- Drives for high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and correct execution of service obligations in accordance with the contracts (warranty and Service) and/or solving of complaints, inquiries and requests about technical products.
- Analyses and solves application failures, complaints (on or offsite), supports upgrades, drives root cause analysis and preventive action. Keeps customers proactively informed.
- Drives feedback loops towards Systems & Service Centers / Divisions.
- Fulfills documentations for service-related issues and resolutions and / or keeps complaint database up to date.
- Proposes additional services as required through maintaining intimate customer relationship.
- Provides special / custom training to customers upon request.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree completed in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, or Mechatronic Engineering.
Solid knowledge in specification and documentation of design patterns within own engineering domain.
Familiar with industry-standard work processes for system testing and commissioning.
Proven experience in managing suppliers and subcontractors effectively.
Fluent in Spanish (mandatory); English proficiency is highly desirable.
Willing and available to travel up to 50%.
