In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Software Developer, you'll participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will create software that enables your clients' hybrid-cloud and AI journeys.

Your primary responsibilities include:

1. Visionary Software Infrastructure Design and Development: Envision, design, and build the Software infrastructure that keeps the solutions running.
2. Innovative Problem Solving for Efficient Solutions: Challenge ideas, identify problems and create efficient solutions.
3. Flexible, Maintainable, and Scalable Application Components: Develop flexible, maintainable, and scalable application components.
4. Leading Technological Innovation through Collaboration: Collaborate with development peers and lead the way staying up to date with tools and technology trends.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

Experience in building applications on Java 8.0+, J2EE stack, reactive programming. Hands-on experience in developing scalable and robust RESTful APIs. Spring Framework (Core, Boot, Reactive Stack and Servlet Stack).

Hands-on experience on frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, JPA - Messaging/Streaming – Kafka. Build effective unit and integration test cases using JUnit, Mockito.

Nice to have - there is no specific structure for the skills listed below, but possessing any of them is a plus:

1. Experience with API Gateways and integrations (Apigee, Akana).
2. Authentication standards and protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect).
3. Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline with Maven, Jenkins, Nexus.
4. Microservices Design & Development.
5. API definition using Swagger.
6. Deep knowledge of REST/SOAP.
7. Experience with Spring Boot, Microservice, SQL, Kubernetes.
8. Experience on Microsoft Azure App Services.
9. Experience in working in a cloud environment (Azure).
10. User Management in terms of authorization (Role-based access control implementations).
11. Database knowledge for integration – JDBC, Cassandra, Cosmos, MySQL.
12. Strong Experience Using BDD and TDD approaches and tooling.

Preferred technical and professional experience

1. Experience in Type Scripting.
2. Knowledge of web services, RESTful API & microservices.
3. Creativity and critical thinking to optimally implement new features.
4. Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git.
5. Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
6. Learn quickly and adapt to a fast-changing environment.
7. Ability and eagerness to learn and explore new topics independently.
8. Experience in developing login module is preferred.
9. Good communication skills and stakeholder management experience is desired.
10. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Self-motivated and self-starter who is results-oriented with high degrees of accountability, commitment, and responsibility.
