Job summary

First Help Financial is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in São Paulo. You will design, implement, and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot), Python, and AWS, contributing to scalable, reliable systems in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 5+ years of backend experience, RESTful API design expertise, and hands-on work with SQL/NoSQL databases and AWS Kinesis. You will work hybrid, visiting the Brazil HQ weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of professional back-end development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python or any JVM-based language.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with both SQL/NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, OracleDB preferred).
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, RDS).
• Experience with AWS Kinesis Data Streams (KDS).
• Experience with testing tools like JUnit, unittest and mock tools like Mockito, MagicMock and so on.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skill
