Job summary

Playlist, in collaboration with ClassPass, is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build and scale core platform APIs and microservices. You will collaborate with product, design, and QA to deliver reliable systems, implement automated testing, and maintain high reliability across services.

You’ll work with modern monitoring tools like New Relic and Kibana, shaping architecture and SDLC practices while ensuring excellent performance for studio partners and end users.

Qualifications

• Significant experience building and scaling backend systems for large-scale SaaS products.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java.
• Experience designing service-oriented and microservice-based architectures.
• Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability tools (e.g., New Relic, Kibana).
• Solid understanding of SDLC, design patterns, and Agile methodologies.
• Proven ability to assess feature impact, identify potential risks, and design for long-term maintainability.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, and driven by a desire to build excellent systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in a professional setting.
