Mindbody’s External APIs team builds and maintains the developer-facing platform used by partners and enterprise customers. You’ll own backend services, design scalable APIs, and help support integration with payroll, marketing, booking, and other Mindbody tools.

You’ll collaborate with product, partnerships, and API support to deliver reliable, backward-compatible APIs, while championing testing, observability, and secure access patterns for external developers.

Qualificações

• Experience building backend services and APIs.
• Strong design and implementation skills for REST APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with API platform concerns such as versioning and security.
• Proficient in SQL databases and data modeling.
• Ability to communicate clearly with partners and engineers.

The Role You’ll Play

You’ll join Mindbody’s External APIs team, which owns the developer-facing platform that partners, integrators, and enterprise customers build on. That includes our Public API, Webhooks, Affiliate API, and the developer portal experience. You’ll help build, ship, and operate the APIs that thousands of wellness businesses use to connect Mindbody to payroll, marketing, booking, and other tools — with a high bar for reliability, backward compatibility, and partner experience.

• Build and maintain performant backend systems and applications that drive real-world experiences — especially the public and partner APIs studios, aggregators, and strategic accounts depend on
• Partner with Product, Partnerships and API Support to bring features to life from ideation through deployment, always iterating with the end-user in mind — here, that user is often an external developer or enterprise integrator
• Contribute to API platform work such as authentication and authorization, versioning, rate limiting, and changes that protect the experience our partners depend on
• Help keep existing integrations stable while we ship new capabilities — including compatibility across surfaces that share core Mindbody systems
• Improve webhook delivery, sandbox and onboarding flows, and the reliability of the developer portal so partners can integrate with confidence
• Champion engineering best practices—automated testing, peer reviews, observability, and elegant design
• Contribute to architecture decisions that prioritize scalability and simplicity
• Participate in production support using observability, on-call, and incident response for partner-facing APIs
• Seek feedback, iterate fast, and balance innovation with reliability
• Approach development with empathy—understanding how your work supports both our partners and their communities
• Mentor others and help foster a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture

Experience You Bring

You care about writing great code and solving the right problems. You’re energized by big-picture thinking and grounded in delivering value with clarity and care.

• Expertise with languages like .NET, C#, Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript — with particular strength in backend services (our public API surface is .NET / C#)
• Experience designing APIs and working with microservice architecture; public or partner-facing API experience (REST or webhooks) is a plus
• Familiarity with API platform concerns such as versioning, rate limiting, API keys / OAuth 2.0, and backward-compatible changes is a plus
• Familiarity with observability tools like New Relic or Kibana
• Deep understanding of SQL and relational databases
• An agile mindset and a strong grasp of software development lifecycle practices
• Ability to navigate complexity, assess tradeoffs, and execute with confidence — including when a change could affect partner integrations
• Excellent communicator who brings others along and helps ideas stick, including Partnerships, Support, and engineering peers

Technologies you could be working with

• Languages and frameworks: C# and .NET / ASP.NET for our backend APIs, with some frontend work on the developer portal
• APIs and integration: REST, SOAP, Webhooks, OAuth 2.0, API keys
• Data: SQL Server and relational data modeling as the primary store; some NoSQL (MongoDB) for partner-facing services; Redis for caching
• Architecture and cloud: Microservices on AWS
• Monitoring: New Relic, Kibana
