Snowflake Data Engineer | About You

As a Snowflake Data Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architecture using the Snowflake platform. You bring deep expertise in SQL, Python, and ELT frameworks, along with a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices. You thrive in analytics-driven environments where clean, efficient data powers strategic decision-making. Detail-oriented and results-driven, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align data engineering solutions with business goals, while upholding high standards for quality, security, and performance.

Snowflake Data Engineer | Day-to-Day

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake to ingest and transform data from diverse sources, including cloud and OLTP systems.
• Implement robust ETL / ELT processes and validation routines using SQL, Python, and orchestration tools like dbt or Apache Airflow.
• Collaborate with Data Analytics, BI, and Product teams to translate business requirements into actionable data products.
• Ensure data quality through error handling, automated monitoring, and validation processes.
• Monitor and optimize Snowflake query performance, warehouse usage, and overall pipeline efficiency.
• Contribute to data governance and security by applying compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2), implementing access controls, and using data masking techniques.
• Document data workflows and support scalable, governed data practices aligned with a modern data mesh approach.

Snowflake Data Engineer | Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, ideally within SaaS or analytics-driven environments.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience, including ELT development, schema design, and performance tuning.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis.
• Experience with orchestration and transformation tools such as dbt and Apache Airflow.
• Solid understanding of data modeling (e.g., star schemas, dimensional modeling) and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and compliance standards such as HIPAA and SOC2, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
