Job summary

CAE Brazil is seeking a Simulator Technician I to perform routine technical activities in a simulator, laboratory, or field environment while developing proficiency in simulator maintenance and support.

You will conduct preventive maintenance, assist in diagnosing and resolving issues, document activities in the CMMS, participate in training, and support refurbishment and logistics; English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Electronics/Avionics.
  • 0–2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, generators, logic analyzers).
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Basic computer proficiency and understanding of computer systems.
  • Experience soldering and PCB repair.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine technical tasks on-site, in the field, or in a laboratory.
  • Participate in training related to laboratory, office, plant, and field-based technical work.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on simulators and systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving simulator issues.
  • Document maintenance activities in CMMS and other systems.
  • Complete required training activities.
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight simulator tasks on designated devices.
  • Perform basic visual alignments and initial troubleshooting.
  • Execute QTG testing as required.
  • Support simulator refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Follow CAE's Quality Management System requirements.
  • Provide timely customer support and respond to customer needs.
  • Handle housekeeping and maintenance tasks to keep simulators ready.
  • Support logistics including parts receipt, repairs, testing, and validation.
  • Complete administrative duties as needed.
  • Assist Technical Services with additional duties.

The Simulator Technician I performs routine technical activities in a simulator, laboratory, field, or operational environment while developing proficiency in simulator maintenance and support activities.

Key responsibilities
  • Perform routine technical tasks on-site, in the field, or in a laboratory environment.
  • Participate in training related to laboratory, office, plant, and field-based technical work.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on simulators and associated systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues affecting simulators and related systems.
  • Utilize maintenance management systems to document and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all required training activities.
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight simulator activities on designated devices.
  • Perform basic visual alignments.
  • Execute automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) testing.
  • Support simulator refurbishment activities and hardware modifications.
  • Comply with CAE's Quality Management System requirements and procedures.
  • Provide timely customer support and respond to customer needs.
  • Perform housekeeping and maintenance-related activities to support simulator readiness.
  • Support logistics activities, including receipt of parts, repair coordination, testing, and validation tasks.
  • Complete administrative activities as required.
  • Support the Technical Services team with additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree (2-year technical diploma) in Electronics, Avionics, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing operational requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics principles.
  • Basic computer proficiency and understanding of computer systems and architectures.
  • Experience performing soldering and circuit board repair activities.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting flight simulators or simulation systems.
  • Experience working in a maintenance, electronics, avionics, aerospace, or technical service environment.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience supporting customer-facing technical operations.
