Job summary

4A Games Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer to expand and improve gameplay mechanics such as weapons, vehicles, player locomotion, and more.

You will create and integrate gameplay mechanics, prototype and iterate on system improvements, implement in-engine using visual scripting tools, and document design and technical specs. Strong English and collaboration with teams are essential.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer to expand and improve on our gameplay mechanics such as weapons, vehicles, player locomotion, and more.

• Create and integrate gameplay mechanics.
• Prototype and iterate on gameplay system improvements.
• Implement mechanics/features directly in-engine using existing visual scripting tools.
• Cooperate with other departments on implementation where necessary.
• Create design and technical documentation on gameplay mechanics.
• Integrate new gameplay mechanics into existing schemes while retaining full functionality.
• Participate in toolkit improvement process while working on the game.

Requirements

• 5 years experience of work for other game companies in a similar design position
• Good command of one or more existing game engines – UE4, Unity, CryEngine, etc.
• Ability to quickly and sufficiently document and communicate an idea in writing or speech.
• Ability to carry an idea from the conceptual phase to the finished illustration and an understanding of translating these ideas to real-time game content.
• Technical understanding of the way the existing gameplay mechanics work and interact with each other.
• Self-criticism and ability to accept criticism from other people. Open-mindedness towards colleagues’ ideas. The more feedback you are ready to take, the better for the game.
• Good English.
• Collaborative team player.
• Ability to learn and master new instruments.
• At least 5 years of regular experience playing video games.
