Job Summary

The Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) team is looking for a Software Engineer with Kubernetes and MLOps experience to join our rapidly growing engineering team. Our focus is to create a platform, partner ecosystem, and community to help enterprise customers solve problems and accelerate business success using AI. This is an exciting opportunity to build and impact next-generation hybrid cloud MLOps platforms, contribute to the RHOAI product, participate in open-source communities, and be at the forefront of AI evolution. As a quality engineer for the Model Server and Metrics team in Red Hat OpenShift AI, you will actively participate in key AI components and open-source communities such as KServe, Kubeflow, and vLLM. You will work as part of an evolving team to design, develop, test, and release new capabilities. The role is primarily an individual contributor working closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams. A passion for open-source communities and developing integrated solutions with Red Hat, open-source, and partner technologies is essential.

What You Will Do

• Lead contributions to architecture, design, and automation testing of new features for RHOAI, especially Model Serving capabilities
• Participate in upstream MLOps communities to innovate in the domain
• Ensure security, resiliency, and maintainability requirements are met
• Develop integration and usability tests, collaborating with software engineers to ensure quality
• Apply CI/CD best practices to deliver high-quality solutions into RHOAI
• Share technical knowledge and promote continuous improvement within the team
• Work with product management and cross-functional teams to clarify business needs
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members about quality efforts
• Conduct code reviews thoughtfully and promptly
• Represent RHOAI at industry events, customer meetings, and open-source forums
• Mentor and guide other quality engineers

What You Will Bring

• Experience testing applications in Python; Go experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift
• Experience with CI/CD systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience over formal education in computer science or related fields
• Experience in AI and MLOps, especially testing models served by MLOps platforms
• Understanding of open-source communities
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCE, Azure)
