Job summary

Zallpy is seeking a senior software engineer to join a globally distributed team. You will investigate complex issues, analyze databases, read code, and collaborate with engineers to diagnose and resolve problems.

You’ll communicate root causes and work with multiple teams across locations while learning new technologies and contributing to high-quality investigations. The role emphasizes autonomy, knowledge sharing, and building resilient solutions in a remote Porto Alegre region setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

What you will do:

What we are looking for:

• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Good level of English for written and verbal communication with international teams.
• Senior‑level experience in software engineering and development.
• Previous experience working in technical support teams or contexts.
• Strong investigation, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to analyze problems in a structured way, formulate hypotheses, and investigate until possible causes are identified.
• Knowledge of data structures and relational databases.
• Experience or knowledge of Oracle and MySQL.
• Experience with Java, considering the technical foundation of the Lyric Reporting area.
• Knowledge of PL/SQL.
• Ability to understand code and apply this knowledge during technical investigations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineers and teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with other programming languages, such as Python, Node.js, C#, or similar.
• Knowledge of other relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with microservices‑related technologies and concepts.
• Knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines/tools, such as Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud environments, such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of techniques for building resilient and fault‑tolerant systems, including rate limiting, circuit breakers, retry patterns, and exponential backoff.
• Familiarity with TDD and software quality practices.
