Job summary

Qualifications

• Hands-on professional software development experience building, shipping, and operating production backend services.
• Strong production experience with Java SE, including object-oriented design, concurrency, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, particularly ECS/EC2, and strong DevOps fundamentals (CD, IaC, multi-environment deployment).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, data formats like JSON/Protobuf, and observability practices such as logging, metrics, and tracing.

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Backend) Key Skills: Java, AWS, DevOps, RESTful APIs Location: Brazil Mode: Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Independently design, implement, and maintain complex modules of our processing and streaming services; apply algorithms and profiling to optimize performance and memory use.
• Own assigned deliverables end to end: clarify requirements, make implementation decisions, and follow through on testing, deployment, and support.
• Build and operate AWS services across regions using ECS, S3, Amazon Dynamo DB, SQS, AWS Elastic Cache, Lambda, and CloudFront.
• Investigate performance, concurrency, and reliability issues in production, perform root-cause analysis, and implement lasting fixes.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions with architects and client-rendering teams, assess trade-offs, and implement designs aligned with agreed technical direction.
• Improve test coverage, observability, deployment automation, and code quality; contribute code reviews and use IQ BOT thoughtfully to improve engineering productivity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on professional software development experience building, shipping, and operating production backend services.
• Strong production experience with Java Standard Edition, including object-oriented design, concurrency, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, particularly ECS and EC2, and strong DevOps fundamentals including CD, IaC, and multi-environment deployment.
• Strong algorithms, data structure, and mathematics skills, with the ability to reason about complexity, memory use, and performance trade-offs.
• Experience building and troubleshooting high-traffic distributed systems, including RESTful APIs, data formats such as JSON or Protocol Buffers, and observability practices such as logging, metrics, and tracing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with observability tooling such as Dynatrace, GRAFANA, or Digital AnalyticsSplunk.
• Understanding of network protocols such as HTTP/2 and WebSockets and their impact on streaming performance.
• Experience with IaC such as Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines such as CI/CT - Jenkins.
• Experience with content Delivery Network, global data distribution, containerization, or orchestration technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
