Avenue Code is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join a product engineering team building AI-powered applications in a cloud-native environment. You will own test automation strategy end-to-end—from framework design and CI/CD integration to performance validation and AI feature testing.

• Strong hands-on Selenium WebDriver for web UI automation.
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or TestCafe.
• Performance/load testing with JMeter, Gatling, StressStimulus, or k6.
• API test automation using RestAssured, Postman/Newman, or Karate.
• Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Solid understanding of STLC, test design techniques, and defect management.
• Familiarity with POM or similar test framework design patterns.
• Awareness of AI-assisted testing tools and AI-driven test approaches.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end automated test frameworks covering UI, API, and service-layer testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium/WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and execute performance and load testing scenarios and analyze results.
• Create and maintain API test automation using RestAssured, Postman/Newman, or Karate.
• Define and own test strategies, plans, and coverage matrices aligned to product requirements.
• Champion quality metrics and report to engineering leadership.
• Contribute to testing AI-powered features, validating outputs and defining acceptance criteria.
• Apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate test script creation and reduce maintenance burden.
• Triage, reproduce, and document defects; perform root-cause analysis; mentor junior QE engineers.

We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join a product engineering team building modern, AI-powered applications in a cloud-native environment. In this role, you'll own test automation strategy end-to-end - from framework design and CI/CD integration to performance validation and AI feature testing. This is a hands-on, high-visibility position where quality engineering is treated as a first-class practice, with a real opportunity to shape how the team tests the next generation of AI-driven product features.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end automated test frameworks covering web UI, API, and service-layer testing.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress for functional and regression coverage, integrated into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
• Build and execute performance and load testing scenarios using JMeter, Gatling, or StressStimulus; analyze results and surface findings to engineering teams.
• Create and maintain API test automation using RestAssured, Postman/Newman, or Karate Framework.
• Define and own test strategies, test plans, and coverage matrices aligned to product requirements; champion quality metrics - including test coverage, defect escape rate, and automation ROI - and report to engineering leadership.
• Contribute to testing AI-powered features, verifying output correctness, flagging unexpected behaviours, and developing acceptance criteria for AI-generated content in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Apply AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate test script creation and reduce maintenance burden; stay current with emerging AI testing approaches and proactively share learnings with the team.
• Triage, reproduce, and document defects; analyze failure patterns and drive root-cause analysis on recurring quality issues.
• Mentor junior QE engineers on automation best practices, tooling, and quality-first mindset.
• Collaborate with development engineers during feature development to influence testability, design, and acceptance criteria.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on expertise with Selenium WebDriver for web UI automation (Java or C# preferred).
• Solid experience with at least one modern UI automation framework: Playwright, Cypress, or TestCafe.
• Hands-on experience with performance and load testing tools: Apache JMeter, Gatling, StressStimulus, or k6.
• Experience with API test automation using RestAssured, Postman/Newman, Karate Framework, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language: Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
• Solid understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), test design techniques, and defect management practices.
• Familiarity with Page Object Model (POM) or similar design patterns for test framework architecture.
• Exposure to testing AI or ML-powered application features, with awareness that AI outputs require validation approaches different from deterministic logic.
• Awareness of AI-assisted testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Testim, Mabl, or equivalent).
• Experience with test management tools (Azure Test Plans, Xray, TestRail, or JIRA).
• Experience with Git and version control practices for test code.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Advanced to Fluent English for daily collaboration with international teams.

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience with BDD frameworks: Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave.
• Familiarity with contract testing tools (Pact or Spring Cloud Contract).
• Experience testing microservices, event-driven systems, or cloud-native applications on Azure.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted test generation tools, even in personal or academic projects.
• Familiarity with Generative AI evaluation concepts (output scoring, semantic comparison) and interest in applying them in a QE context.
• Experience in retail or eCommerce quality engineering contexts.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with observability tools (Application Insights, Splunk) for test failure diagnostics.
• Exposure to visual regression testing tools (Percy or similar).
• Exposure to chaos engineering or resiliency testing methodologies.
