McDermott International, Ltd. is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to elevate the Operations Engineering (Fab) discipline within our projects. You will mentor less experienced colleagues and apply expert knowledge to improve products and services across customer, operational, and project activities.

The role requires hands-on leadership, data-driven decision-making, and a strong HSE mindset to ensure safe, compliant project execution from engineering through installation.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years in operations engineering in EPCI
  • Strong knowledge of EPCI project lifecycle and industry practices
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; able to lead complex projects
  • Analytical mindset with ability to use data-driven insights for improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; collaborates with diverse stakeholders
  • HSE mindset with commitment to safe operations and regulatory compliance

Responsabilidades

  • Develop and implement strategies and plans for project execution, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and installation activities
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and best practices throughout project lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Analyze project data, performance metrics, and lessons learned to identify improvements and innovations
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including SOP development and best practices
  • Foster relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulators
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams for seamless integration of activities
  • Identify and mitigate risks and hazards; ensure adherence to HSE policies
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify safety compliance and risk management
  • Coordinate with fabrication hook-up groups to provide marine support equipment and logistics
  • Review pre-rigged sling arrangements and rigging controls to ensure safety and conformance
  • Oversee compilation of project rigging certifications

The Senior Operations Engineer solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Operations Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Operations Engineering (Fab) team and other related teams and ensures they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies and plans for project execution, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and manage all aspects of EPCI projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, and installation activities
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry codes, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining operational processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Conduct thorough analyses of project data, performance metrics, and lessons learned to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, including the development and implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address project challenges and ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring seamless integration of engineering, procurement, construction, and installation activities
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards associated with project activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all operations adhere to relevant HSE policies and procedures
  • Undertake regular site visits and inspections to assess compliance with safety protocols and drive a proactive approach to risk management
  • Liaise with the fabrication hook-up group on the projects that they are responsible for and provide them with the required marine support equipment and logistics assistance
  • Ensure conformance to Level 2 procedures for all the project-specific wire rope applications and rigging
  • Review pre-rigged sling tie-downs and protection arrangements prepared by field engineers
  • Responsible for compilation of project rigging certification
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Petroleum Engineering)
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar capacity with proven experience in operations engineering within the EPCI industry
  • Sound knowledge of EPCI project lifecycle, engineering principles, and industry best practices
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and oversee complex projects
  • Analytical mindset and ability to utilize data-driven insights for process improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong HSE mindset and commitment to ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, Lean) would be advantageous
