Dev.Pro is a US-based software development company embracing a remote-first model. We invite a Senior Java Software Engineer with Oracle expertise to join a large-scale platform modernization and migration project.

You will design Oracle schemas, optimize queries, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. The role emphasizes hands-on Java development, Oracle database engineering, and collaboration on production issues, with optional involvement in migrations

Qualificações

• 5+ years of experience building, debugging, and optimizing scalable Java backend applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8–17, object-oriented design, design patterns, multithreading and concurrency.
• Hands-on Oracle development experience with knowledge of database internals (indexing, query optimization, partitioning, replication, and transaction behavior).
• Advanced SQL skills, including performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with production database operations (backup/restore, high availability, disaster recovery, failover).
• Experience writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
• Hands-on Linux/Unix experience and scripting in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive blockers to resolution.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional Scrum teams.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical tasks, and proactively identify and resolve blockers
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional Scrum teams and leading technical discussions
• Upper-Intermediate+ English level

Key responsibilities and your contribution

In this role, you'll combine Java backend development with Oracle database engineering, troubleshooting production issues, improving performance, and supporting migration activities.
