Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our remote team. You will design and build distributed data processing components in Java, focusing on throughput, reliability, and correctness, and you’ll contribute to large-scale streaming and batch pipelines.

You will collaborate with platform and data engineering teams, optimize JVM performance in production, and participate in code reviews to uphold engineering standards across the data platform. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 3+ years of Java as primary language.
• Hands-on experience with distributed data processing systems.
• Background in stream or batch processing infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of JVM performance fundamentals.
• Open source contribution experience is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

You’ve worked on systems where data moves reliably at scale — whether through streaming pipelines, batch jobs, or both — and you understand the JVM well enough to reason about performance when it matters. You’ll be contributing to open source data platform technology that leading enterprises worldwide depend on to process and manage their data.
