Job summary

BairesDev is hiring a Java Backend Developer to join a fully remote Development Team. You will design and implement backend services, ensuring security, performance, and scalability across the stack.

You’ll review code, run tests, and collaborate with global teams to deliver high-quality software. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in Java, solid experience with SQL/NoSQL, microservices, cloud and modern testing/CI practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Java experience required.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with microservices and cloud.
• Advanced algorithm knowledge.
• Understanding of SOLID, CLEAN Code and scalable solutions.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns and testing/automation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software teams to gather requirements and align on best practices.
• Design, implement and support backend solutions for applications, security, analytics, and performance.
• Conform to security standards and review requirements (Fortify scans, etc.).
• Lead code reviews for juniors and ensure adherence to architectural standards.
• Execute test scripts and ensure quality delivery.
• Address and resolve code issues with urgency.

What You’ll Do

• Work with software development teams to gather requirements and ensure best practices are adhered.
• Design, Implement & Support solutions for application development, security, analytics, and performance management.
• Conform to existing industry and Verizon security coding standards adhering to fortify scan and other security tool review requirements.
• Conduct code reviews for junior members of the team and do peer code reviews to make sure code is following standards set forward by the architects.
• Run test scripts against code to ensure quality delivery.
• Resolve code issues with urgency.

You Must Have

• 4+ years of experience in Java.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases.
• Experience with Microservices and the Cloud.
• Advanced algorithm knowledge.
• IT infrastructure knowledge.
• Intermediate agile methodologies management.
• Strong understanding of best practices, SOLID principles, CLEAN Code, and scalable solutions.
• Design Patterns knowledge.
• Experience developing entire applications from scratch.
• Experience in automated tests, CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong experience with Version control.
• Advanced English level.
