iTRTech Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a Netezza-to-Snowflake migration in a hybrid or remote Brazil setting. You will design the migration strategy, execute waves, and ensure data validation and governance across BI, data, and infrastructure teams.

You will optimize Snowflake performance, monitor costs, and collaborate with distributed teams across time zones, ensuring secure, scalable data operations during the transition.

Qualificações

• Degree in CS or related field.
• Experience in data engineering or data platforms.
• Snowflake architecture, security, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Netezza admin, data modeling, and queries.
• Experience planning/executing Netezza-to-Snowflake migrations.
• Strong SQL and ETL/ELT with Snowflake.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and post-migration validation.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute Netezza-to-Snowflake migrations, including strategy, waves, and cutover.
• Develop ETL/ELT scripts and batch integrations; convert DDL, procedures, and scripts, and rewrite queries for Snowflake.

• Monitor and optimize Snowflake architecture, cloud resource usage, costs, and performance.
• Ensure data security and governance, and document migration processes and configurations.

About the Opportunity

Help deliver a secure and efficient Netezza-to-Snowflake migration, from strategy and execution to data validation and cloud optimization. You will collaborate with BI, development, data, and infrastructure teams, ensuring reliable data operations, strong performance, and clear documentation throughout the transition.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan and execute Netezza-to-Snowflake migrations, including migration strategy, waves, and cutover.
• Develop ETL/ELT scripts and batch integrations; convert DDL, procedures, and scripts, and rewrite queries for Snowflake.
• Validate migrated data through reconciliation, comparisons, data QA, and consistency and performance testing.
• Monitor and optimize Snowflake architecture, cloud resource usage, costs, and performance.
• Ensure data security and governance, and document migration processes and configurations.
• Collaborate with distributed technical and business teams throughout delivery.

Mandatory Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Data/Software Engineering, Information Systems, IT, or a related field.
• Experience in Data Engineering or Data Platforms.
• Proven expertise in Snowflake architecture, security, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Netezza administration, data modeling, and queries.
• Hands‑on experience planning and executing Netezza-to-Snowflake migrations, including strategy, waves, and cutover.
• Experience converting database objects and adapting queries for Snowflake.
• Strong SQL and ETL/ELT skills, using Snowflake with modern or native tools, with a primary focus on batch integration.
• Experience with post‑migration validation, reconciliation, data QA, and performance and consistency testing.
• Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including ongoing Snowflake monitoring and cost/performance optimization.
• Knowledge of data security and governance.
• Experience in international or remote projects with teams across time zones.
• Experience with Scrum or Kanban and collaboration across BI, data, development, and infrastructure teams.

Nice to Have

• Specialization in Big Data, Data Engineering, or Cloud Computing focused on data platforms.
• Snowflake SnowPro Core/Advanced and data-focused AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications — strongly recommended.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Experience with large‑scale migrations, critical environments, or regulated sectors such as financial services.
• Strong migration documentation skills and communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Ideal Profile

A hands‑on data engineer with strong migration expertise who can manage the technical complexity of moving from Netezza to Snowflake. You combine rigorous data validation with performance and cost awareness, communicate effectively with distributed teams, and keep security and operational continuity central to delivery.
