Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, business administration, or a related field that uses quantitative analysis, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. 8 years of experience in investigative HR roles, investment banking, management consulting (e.g., strategy, compensation), or similar investigative roles.
  3. Experience using investigative methods, tools, and mathematical concepts to identify, design, recommend, and implement compensation solutions.
  4. Knowledge of HR policies, practices, principles, employment laws, and related regulations.
  5. Fluent English communication skills for interaction with business stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience communicating compensation plans, policies, and practices effectively across diverse audiences and contexts.
  • Experience with sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and employee recognition programs.
  • Proficiency in survey methodologies for research purposes.
  • Ability to present information confidently and influence executive leadership.
  • Consultative skills to develop innovative solutions aligned with Google's compensation philosophy and governance standards.

This involves partnering with Staffing, HR, and business leaders to deliver innovative compensation programs that embody a "Total Rewards" approach.

In this role, you should be an unconventional thinker willing to make bold decisions, continuously improve compensation programs based on feedback and industry research, and leverage data to inform decisions. Our People Operations team is dedicated to bringing the world's most innovative people to Google and providing programs that help them thrive, using a data-driven approach to human resources.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with client organizations, People Partners, Staffing, and Finance to understand compensation needs and provide guidance on performance metrics, plan revisions, and administrative guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with location-specific and regulatory requirements, and that practices align with Google's compensation philosophy, including governance and policy communication.
  • Manage the entire incentive compensation lifecycle, from design to implementation, securing approvals, and overseeing payout structures, cost modeling, and financial accruals.
  • Manage and optimize various compensation programs to effectively drive business outcomes, improve employee experience, and support organizational growth.
