We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As part of our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that promote positive cash flow. You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet supporting seamless transactions and employer linking.

The ideal candidate is excited to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet goals.
• Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed micro-services architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Enforce observability through logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
• Create detailed technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
• Collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and optimization.
• Experience building reliable, scalable applications and distributed microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ownership mindset with experience in agile methodologies.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Release management expertise and CI/CD experience with Gitlab CI or Github Actions.
