We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This position is remote. The candidate will manage various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will facilitate user access to Rain and develop products that help maintain positive cash flow.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet that enables seamless transactions and employer linking. Our ideal candidate is eager to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries for scalability and collaboration.
6. Enforce observability through logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Document solutions, including architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance improvements.
9. Maintain effective cross-team communication and coordination throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and optimization.
• Experience building scalable, reliable user-facing applications.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Ability to own projects and drive initiatives independently.
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD frameworks.
• Knowledge of message queuing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
