Job summary

Axiom Technologies is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize cloud infrastructure on Azure, with a focus on AKS and enterprise-grade security.

You will manage Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, and monitor systems with Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Dynatrace, while ensuring reliability and cost efficiency.

This remote role suits hands-on engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and can operate autonomously as an independent contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and managing Azure infrastructure (IaaS and PaaS) with focus on networking and security.
• Expertise with AKS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Strong scripting with PowerShell, Bash, or Python and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support Azure resources and cloud infrastructure.

Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (AKS Platform) - Remote

Core Responsibilities

Azure Cloud Engineering

• Design, deploy, and support Azure resources and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage Azure services including:
  • Application Gateway & Load Balancers
  • Azure Firewall & Private Endpoints
  • Compute services – VMs, App services, Function apps, Logic apps
  • Storage Accounts – blob, Fileshares
  • AI cognitive services – Foundry , Search and etc.
  • Azure SQL, PostgreSQL
  • Key Vault
  • Azure DNS – Private DNS zones
  • Azure Monitor & Log Analytics
  • Virtual Networks, NSGs, Route Tables
• Implement Azure security, governance, RBAC, Managed Identities, and networking best practices.

Kubernetes & Containers

• Design, deploy, and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
• Manage cluster lifecycle, upgrades, scaling, security, and monitoring.
• Administration of Kubernetes Services – Dockerfiles, Deployment manifests and etc.
• Support Helm Charts, Gateway API (Envoy), CSI Drivers, Workload Identity, and container platforms.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes, application, networking, and storage issues.

Infrastructure Automation

• Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and environment standardization.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and platform operations.

Monitoring & Operations

• Monitor platform health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana and Dynatrace.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.
• Drive reliability, security, and cost optimization initiatives.
