Qualificações

• 3–5 years in upstream energy, market analysis or data analytics.

• Fluent in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus and travel as needed.

The Opportunity

Rystad Energy is hiring a Senior Analyst to cover upstream oil and gas markets across Latin America, blending hands‑on market research with the firm's proprietary datasets to track production, activity, economics, and broader trends. This role leans heavily technical — you'll work with large, complex datasets and build automated analytical workflows using Python, SQL, and AI tools, while quickly building fluency in Rystad's internal databases and dashboards.

It’s also a client‑facing seat: you'll turn data into commercially relevant insights through research reports, presentations, and direct client conversations, with opportunities to represent the company at conferences and in media engagements.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyze Latin American upstream oil and gas markets, combining market research with Rystad Energy’s proprietary datasets to assess production, activity, economics and market trends.
• Work extensively with large and complex datasets, developing and automating analytical workflows using Python, SQL, AI and other relevant tools.
• Rapidly develop expertise in Rystad Energy’s proprietary databases, tools and dashboards, and identify opportunities to improve data quality, processes and automation.
• Produce quantitative and qualitative research reports and commentary delivering strategic market outlooks and actionable insights.
• Create and deliver effective presentations and impactful research notes showcasing findings from data analysis and market research.
• Participate in conferences and client meetings and support business development activities.
• Develop a strong understanding of client needs and translate data and market analysis into commercially relevant insights.
• Be a thought leader and represent the company in media engagements.

Requirements / Skills

• Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant experience in upstream energy, market analysis, data analytics, quantitative research or a similarly analytical role.
• Strong academic background in a relevant field such as engineering, economics, finance, geoscience or information technology.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources and translate it into clear, actionable market insights.
• Strong ability to handle and analyze large datasets; proficiency in Python, SQL or other commonly used programming languages is highly desirable.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build robust analyses and communicate findings effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a hands‑on, resourceful and intellectually curious approach.
• Ability to quickly learn new datasets, analytical tools and market concepts and independently take ownership of workflows.
• Developed adoption of AI across analytical workflows and automation.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to understand client needs and identify opportunities for value creation.
• Comfortable combining hands‑on data analysis with client meetings, presentations and commercial discussions.
• Collaborative team player who is equally comfortable working independently and taking ownership of deliverables.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences and industry events.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese required; Spanish is a plus
