EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our worldwide team, building intelligent platforms that streamline insurance operations for brokers and clients.

You will lead AI-enabled tool development with LLMs, RAG, and document handling, partnering with brokers, underwriters, and operations to scale solutions and drive deployment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
• Minimum 3 years in Software Engineering, AI/ML or similar fields.
• Strong Python and TypeScript skills.
• Proven track record delivering AI-driven products to live deployment.
• Experience applying machine learning models and LLMs in real settings.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to translate technical material for non-technical audiences.
• Excellent English communication skills (B2 level or higher).

Responsabilidades

• Identify AI value areas across Insurance Broking work.
• Plan, construct, and roll out enterprise-ready AI platforms for complex operations.
• Create AI-enabled tools powered by LLMs, RAG, document handling, information extraction, categorization, and agent-oriented designs.
• Collaborate with brokers, underwriters, and operational teams to scale solutions.
• Manage full lifecycle of AI products from concept to launch and refinement.
• Build evaluation mechanisms for AI systems including tests, monitoring, performance, and hallucination detection.
• Promote rapid experimentation and adopt modern AI engineering practices.
• Improve operational performance and reduce processing times via intelligent automation.
• Guide other engineers to deliver trustworthy AI.
• Explore latest AI innovations for insurance-specific problems.

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our team. Our client is undergoing a major shift in its insurance technology strategy, moving away from traditional infrastructure toward advanced, agent-driven AI solutions. This role puts you on a worldwide team dedicated to engineering intelligent platforms that streamline complicated insurance operations, allowing brokers to dedicate more energy to critical thinking and relationship building with clients.

Responsibilities

• Pinpoint promising areas where AI can add value across different aspects of Insurance Broking work
• Plan, construct, and roll out enterprise-ready AI platforms that simplify complex insurance operations
• Create AI-enabled tools powered by LLMs, RAG, document handling, information extraction, categorization, and agent-oriented designs
• Partner closely with brokers, underwriters, and operational teams to identify pain points and develop solutions that scale
• Manage the complete lifecycle of AI products, covering everything from initial concepts and prototypes to launch, tracking, and ongoing refinement
• Construct thorough evaluation mechanisms for AI systems, incorporating test coverage, monitoring, performance analysis, and hallucination identification
• Champion quick-turnaround experimentation and push forward innovative practices rooted in modern AI engineering
• Elevate operational performance, cut down processing timeframes, and strengthen business output through intelligent automation
• Provide direction and support to other engineers, reinforcing effective methods for delivering trustworthy AI solutions
• Explore and incorporate the latest AI innovations to tackle problems unique to the insurance field

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related area, or equivalent real-world experience
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work history in Software Engineering, AI/ML, Machine Learning, or similar fields
• Strong working knowledge of Python and TypeScript
• Demonstrated success bringing AI-driven products from early-stage concept all the way to live deployment
• Direct experience applying machine learning models and Large Language Models (LLMs) in real settings
• Exposure to current software development methods, including CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments
• Excellent analytical capabilities, sound judgment in problem-solving, and clear communication
• Skill in translating technical material into terms that make sense for non-technical business audiences
• Excellent English communication skills (B2 level or higher)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with (Re)Insurance Underwriting Operations to deepen insight into industry-specific procedures
• Awareness of Infrastructure as Code practices, especially as they relate to security, to support consistent and protected environment builds
• Prior background within the Insurance field to inform and enrich AI solution planning
• Direct experience with Monitoring and Observability solutions to ensure ongoing visibility into system performance post-launch
• History of Technical Leadership, including directing teams and influencing the broader engineering vision
